Acuminal Hitting Shelves in Several Stylish Variations

0

There’s another primo offering on the way from We Knife Co., under their original self-titled label. The Acuminal should scratch the itch for anybody looking for a large folding knife constructed from deluxe materials.

Since first coming onto the scene in 2016, We Knife Co. promised to deliver at least 20 models a year – and, needless to say, that’s a promise the company has lived up to and then some. These days, of course, We Knife Co. is actually three different brands: budget-oriented Sencut, mid-range Civivi, and the original We label, where the company cuts loose and brings out the big guns in terms of material choices and machining details.

The flamed titanium Acuminal

Which brings us to the Acuminal, a knife that could fairly be called “pretty dang big,” with a 3.98-inch, aerodynamically styled drop point. With something in this size class, there aren’t many folder-applicable chores that can’t be done, other than ones that call for a smaller knife with more direct control. The steel on tap here is something a little different for We Knife Co.: Vanax, a nitrogen-enriched powder metallurgy steel from our friends at Bohler-Uddeholm. Vanax is known in particular for having heaping helpings of stain resistance – but it performs well within its class in terms of edge retention as well.

A gracile, arching handle shape with minimal extraneous grooving or finger cuts, fashioned from titanium, with the requisite frame lock on tap – that’s what’s on offer ergonomically with the Acuminal. There are naturally a slew of different aesthetic options for the Acuminal on offer, including a flamed titanium handle and a subdued, dark grey option with a Fafnir pattern Damasteel blade. All versions weigh 4.49 oz. and come with a sculpted titanium pocket clip.

The Acuminal should be arriving now.
